Rogue River Spring Salmon Report 19 Apr 2026 Gold Beach, OR

The 2026 Rogue River salmon season is one of the most interesting in a long while. Historic low rainfall is keeping the river near summer levels. The pattern emerging is one of inconsistency as you can tell from the flurries of social media posts followed by crickets. Anyone who says they are consistently claiming to catch lots of springers everyday has a vivid imagination.

One day you are a hero and the next a zero. For example this group of great guys from Las Vegas hooked 4 and landed 3 hatchery salmon to take home on the first day of their trip. With the same group, similar water levels and doing everything the same way in the same spot, we never got a bite. And…that trip pretty much sums up the season so far. When we think there is a consistent flow of migrating salmon after a day like the first day of their trip, we get whammied with a skunk. When we are about ready to cancel trips, the picture above happens. We continue fishing and praying for rain and lots of it!
