2023 Salmon Wrap Up

We had a good salmon catching year on the Rogue River in 2023.

Starting in March, we had one of the best runs of hatchery spring salmon in the past decade. The catching and consuming continued into early June. Some changes in hatchery practices 3 years ago really paid off. With all the high water and snow pack, we expect similar results this year. The fall salmon run started slowly in July and took off August – September with some Chinook and lots of Coho moving through the lower river well into October.
