Klamath & Rogue River Salmon

Rogue River
The Rogue Estuary is a trophy hunters dream from mid-August through the end of September. Fish over 40 lb. are caught on a regular basis. Fishing is done from the jet boat where we troll anchovies and spinners.

We normally launch from Lex's Landing in Gold Beach, OR. A vacation destination, Gold Beach offers many lodging and dining opportunities, some within walking distance of the ramp.

Klamath River
The Klamath and its primary tributary, the Trinity experienced a strong run of immature jack salmon in 2008. Based on this and other data, the Pacific Fisheries Management Council (PFMC) is projecting an exceptionally strong run of adult salmon in the Klamath in 2009.

The Klamath is a wild, beautiful coastal river with very limited bank access. Evergreen forests grow to the edge of the river and sighting a bear or bald eagle is a common experience.

Closure of commercial and sport ocean salmon fisheries and good ocean conditions yielded a "perfect storm" for strong Klamath and Trinity salmon runs this year.

We will be guiding only the peak of the Klamath run this year from Sept 1-Sept 30 in the Klamath Glen area.

With a generous limit of 2 adult and 1 jack salmon, 2009 has the potential to be a "fill the freezer" year on the Klamath.

Since we will be far from home, we will be offering "fishing only" trips where we supply all the gear and bait, but no lodging or meals. Contact us for special rates on the best lodging in the area.
